The real estate sector in Türkiye has experienced significant growth in recent years, mainly driven by the construction of new housing to meet increasing demand and urban rehabilitation projects.

Following the devastating earthquake of 1999, Türkiye's assessment revealed that 7 million homes were non-compliant and needed to be demolished, and 14 millions homes required renovation. Simultaneously, the need to construct nearly 1 million new homes per year to meet the growing demographic demand was identified.

Urban transformation has gone beyond mere rehabilitation, creating significant real estate opportunities: the construction of smaller spaces allowing owners and builders to finance without cash-flow, the construction of luxury complexes... In this context, urban planning projects and development projects at the block or neighbourhood level have been carried out.

Following the tragic earthquakes of February 2023 with magnitudes of 7.8 and 7.6 devastating 11 cities, the need for new and compliant housing has been significantly impacted, with rental housing prices increasing during the January-March 2023 period. The total housing need in the earthquake-affected areas is estimated at 300,000 according to the latest estimates.

In the current economic context in Türkiye, real estate has become the most profitable investment, creating opportunities for investors in both construction equipment and products intended for the residential, commercial, and storage markets.
