Türkiye, a country bridging Europe and Asia, offers exceptional cultural, historical, and natural wealth, making it a popular tourist destination. Tourism plays a crucial economic role in Türkiye, attracting millions of visitors from around the world each year.

As the effects of the pandemic wane, Turkish tourism is recovering sector revenues surged by 53.4% in 2022 compared to 2021, reaching a record amount of nearly USD 46.3 billion. The number of foreign visitors jumped by nearly 80% compared to 2021, totalling 44.6 million and nearly matching pre-pandemic figures (45.1 million visitors in 2019).



Tourism is a key sector of the Turkish economy. In addition to being a major source of foreign exchange, it contributes approximately 10% to Türkiye’s GDP and provides employment for 1.7 million people in accommodation and food services, accounting for around 5% of total employment.
