Türkiye benefits from a wide range of mineral resources due to its rich and extremely complex geology. It is the 8th country in terms of mineral diversity, with 70 different minerals recorded.

Globally recognized for its industrial minerals, Türkiye is a major producer of boron, feldspar, marble, barite, celestine (strontium), limestone, magnesite, perlite, and pumice.

It also contains a great variety of primary metallic minerals, including copper and chromite.

Thanks to its natural wealth, Türkiye offers many mineral-based products, including refined borax and related chemicals, cement, ceramics, and glass. Additionally, Türkiye is a significant producer of ferrochrome and steel.



Despite its rich mineral deposits, resources remain poorly or under-exploited, and Türkiye still requires the expertise of foreign companies to access, process, store, or develop its raw materials.
