Türkiye to handle global production of the Dacia Striker

Dacia has officially unveiled the Dacia Striker, its new crossover and a key part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in the C-segment. What stands out most is the choice of Türkiye as the vehicle’s global production hub. Manufactured at Oyak Renault’s Bursa plant, the Striker represents a major milestone for the Romanian brand.

Bursa: Dacia’s first global production center

According to Lionel Jaillet, CEO of Renault Group Türkiye, the Striker’s launch underscores the model’s strategic importance for Türkiye’s automotive ecosystem. As part of a €400 million+ investment plan announced at the end of 2023, Oyak Renault had planned to start production of four new models. After the Renault Duster and the new Clio, and with the Renault Boreal project expected in mid-2026, the Striker becomes the fourth model produced in Bursa and the most strategic to date.

For the first time in the brand’s history, Türkiye will serve as the sole global production hub for a Dacia model. This move elevates Dacia from an importer role to a major local industrial player, while enhancing Bursa’s multi-model production capacity and engineering capabilities. The partnership with OYAK highlights the group’s commitment to strengthening local expertise and delivering high-value projects.

Design and versatility

The Striker reflects Dacia’s multi-purpose philosophy, combining the dynamism of a station wagon, the practicality of a large hatchback, and the ground clearance of an SUV into a single vehicle. At 4.62 meters in length, it positions itself squarely in the C-segment and commands a confident presence on the road. Its design, simple yet bold, aims to appeal to modern drivers even before the full model reveal scheduled for June. While the interior has yet to be officially shown, the vehicle’s robust exterior and promise of being a “reliable travel companion” suggest a spacious and practical cabin.

Powertrain options and market positioning

Designed to meet the mobility needs of the future, the Dacia Striker will offer multiple energy options: full hybrid, hybrid 4×4, and petrol/LPG (ECO-G). Its starting price is expected to be €25,000 in Europe, reflecting Dacia’s ongoing approach of offering accessible vehicles without compromising on quality or features.

Developed under the Renault Group’s futuREady strategy, the Striker is the latest product of collaboration with OYAK and is expected to deliver significant value to Türkiye’s automotive ecosystem, enhancing both local capabilities and the overall value chain.

A strong signal for Türkiye

Beyond the vehicle itself, this decision underscores Türkiye’s growing role as a strategic automotive industrial hub. The production of the Striker demonstrates that the country is no longer just a cost-competitive manufacturing base but a key player in global projects, capable of supporting high-value models for worldwide markets.
