Global demand for packaging solutions continues to grow, driven by the rise of e-commerce, the industrialization of food supply chains, the premiumization of consumer goods, and new sustainability requirements.

In this context, Türkiye has established itself as one of the most attractive industrial hubs in its region. Located at the crossroads of Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia, it combines a competitive manufacturing base, a strong export culture, and a dense network of packaging producers, converters, and industrial users.

With an estimated production value of USD 26.3 billion and approximately USD 7.3 billion in exports, the packaging sector in Türkiye ranks among the most highly structured in Europe. The country is already competitive in terms of volume, particularly in plastic, paper and board, metal, and glass packaging. However, the next phase of development will not hinge solely on price or production capacity.

New European regulatory requirements, notably the PPWR, growing ESG pressure from international buyers, the search for recyclable or bio-based materials, and the need for more advanced technical solutions are opening up new opportunities for foreign suppliers.

The most relevant opportunities lie particularly in sustainable packaging, high value-added materials, recyclable or mono-material solutions, sustainable inks and coatings, technical packaging for the agri-food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and e-commerce sectors, as well as machinery and equipment that enable Turkish manufacturers to modernize their production lines.
