HOME APPLIANCE IN TÜRKIYE

Türkiye boasts a highly developed local home appliance industry. Initially serving as a subcontractor for major international brands, the country gradually acquired expertise and invested in R&D. As a result, Türkiye ranked as the 7th largest home appliance exporter globally, the leading producer in Europe, and the second worldwide in production capacity as of 2024.

Despite a slight decline in European sales due to the war in Ukraine, Türkiye remains one of the key global players in the home appliance industry. This is driven by its competitive production capacity, technological expertise, and well-established brands such as Vestel and Beko, which continue to maintain a strong presence in international markets.

The sector now faces new challenges, including growing demand for more innovative and high-tech products, such as connected and "smart" digital appliances, as well as energy-efficient and environmentally friendly products. This shift is particularly driven by European regulations and Türkiye’s commitment to climate goals set by the Paris Agreement, which Ankara ratified on October 6, 2021.

The European Union’s eco-design regulations encourage the production of durable, repairable, and energy- efficient products, prompting Turkish manufacturers to adapt in order to remain competitive in the European market.



The sector is evolving toward new opportunities in product diversification, with increasing demand for next- generation technologies, while continuing to offer significant sourcing potential.
