Watsons inaugurates a 2nd logistics center in Ankara

Celebrating its 20th year, Watsons Türkiye has made a significant investment in the capital by inaugurating its second distribution center. With the opening of this new facility, the company aims to deliver products more quickly to customers across the country, strengthen its logistics capabilities, and expand its omnichannel operations. The opening took place on 12 December, Retailers’ Day—symbolically adding further meaning to the investment as a day that represents labor and employment in the retail sector.

Faster, Uninterrupted Service Across 22,000 Square Meters

Equipped with next-generation technologies and operating on a 22,000-square-meter site, Watsons’ Ankara distribution center has begun managing shipment operations for more than 200 stores as of its opening. It is planned that approximately 40% of Watsons Türkiye’s operations will be run from this center, with the goal of providing faster and uninterrupted service to more than 470 stores across 66 provinces.

A New Step in Sustainability: Solar Energy Investment

Placing sustainability at the core of its business, Watsons Türkiye has once again demonstrated its commitment by installing a solar energy system at the new distribution center. Very soon, once all of the center’s energy needs are met entirely through solar power, Watsons Türkiye will further reduce its environmental impact while transitioning its operations to a more sustainable structure.

The opening ceremony was held with the participation of Watsons Türkiye General Manager Mete Yurddaş and the senior management team. Thanks to this investment, employment has been created for more than 100 people in the region, further strengthening Watsons Türkiye’s contribution to sustainable growth and the retail ecosystem.

Opening remarks from Watsons Türkiye General Manager Mete Yurddaş

“As Türkiye’s leading beauty and personal care retailer, we have been adding value to our customers’ lives for 20 years. In 2025, we reached 470 stores by opening more than 50 new locations, and over the next three years, we will continue our growth by opening more than 200 additional stores. To support this strong growth, we have opened our second distribution center. Our new distribution center in Ankara will accelerate both our store and e-commerce operations and further enhance our seamless customer experience. Being closer to our customers, reaching them faster, and expanding our omnichannel strategy are among our top priorities.”

With this new investment, Watsons Türkiye continues to take its operational strength one step further, reinforcing its focus on flexibility, speed, and efficiency across its supply chain.
