Some of these projects are part of the "Broad Area R&D Calls" (Savunma Sanayii Başkanlığı Ar-Ge Geniş Alan (SAGA) Çağrıları) issued by the Presidency of Defense Industries, aimed at addressing identified tactical and technical needs based on academic research. Studies and analyses conducted under SAGA remain theoretical and do not involve the manufacturing of physical products or prototypes.

Notably, three projects—ZAHİDE, ATAKAN, and CANBAZ—were named in tribute to the victims of the PKK terrorist attack on October 23, 2024, targeting Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) facilities.
