Advantis Consulting is looking for a Turkish & English bilingual Quality Inspector, for Descours & Cabaud, a French market leader company, positioned as a multispecialist distributor of high value-added professional supplies to the industrial and construction sectors.

Job description


The Quality Inspector will be directly attached to the local Sourcing manager based in Istanbul and work closely with Global Sourcing department.

He/she will be in charge of coordinating quality and operations in Türkiye and Euromed area (mainly in Central and Eastern Europe):



Supplier conformity


  • Conduct pre-qualification, quality, and CSR audits for domestic and international suppliers (mainly in Central and Eastern Europe), if necessary, coordinate the same with third-party.
  • Generate and follow up on Corrective Action Plans related to supplier qualification.
  • Assist Quality Teams in France and local Sourcing Managers with supplier onboarding and documentation.
  • Ensure proper reporting of actions in ERP and deliver periodic KPIs related to the Quality Department



Product conformity


  • Conduct pre-shipment inspections in factories. In cases when colleagues or third-party inspection companies are responsible for conducting these inspections, all necessary documentation preparations must be completed to enable the shipment inspection.
  • Develop and maintain quality control protocols and shipment inspection documents.
  • Support sourcing teams with claims and improvement plans (e.g., corrective actions, 8D reports).
  • Organize team meetings and training sessions with QCs, auditors, and commercial teams.



Operations


  • Enter and track all regional orders in ERP; schedule and execute shipment inspections.
  • Coordinate shipments with the Supply Chain Department (In France); verify shipping and commercial documents, certificates.
  • Monitor and report supplier performance indicators.
  • Track delays and follow up with suppliers daily.
  • Collaborate with freight forwarders for logistics tracking.



Required skills and expertise


  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, metallurgy and materials or chemical engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in supplier quality management and quality control, preferably in manufacturing sectors
  • Basic knowledge of international trade (incoterms, international contracts, logistics…)
  • Familiar with CSR standards: BSCI, ICS, SEDEX, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, or SA 8000
  • Good knowledge of quality management systems: ISO 9001, ISO 14001.
  • Proven experience in supplier audits, evaluations, and development processes + quality control
  • Technical knowledge about the products would be a plus (tools, hardware, fasteners, PPE, steel, industrial items, plumbing items, pools accessories)
  • Proactive and enthusiastic, resourceful, enjoys working on the field.
  • Very autonomous, self-organized with high integrity and high business ethics.
  • Excellent capacity of communication and reporting to foreign management and counterparts.
  • Actively able to drive and travel nationally as well as abroad (Very frequent business trips required)
  • Completed military service
  • Proficient in MS office tools (Excel, Word, ppt, outlook), experience with ERP systems is a plus
  • Excellent command of Turkish, with fluent written and verbal communication in English; knowledge of French is highly appreciated and any other European language would be a plus
  • Based in Istanbul, with proximity to Sabiha Gökçen Airport considered an advantage.
