Automotive industry - Türkiye :
In recent years, Turkey has become one of the most important manufacturers and suppliers to European automobile manufacturers.
Thanks to its know-how as well as its young and qualified workforce, the Turkish automotive and subcontracting industry has become the most important production and supply center for many international manufacturers, including Germany and France.
The automobile industry, which developed from the 1950s to 1960s, gained a real new lease of life with the signing, in 1996, of the free trade agreement with the EU and the automobile industry benefited from redeployment of European and American manufacturers and equipment suppliers. Thanks to technology transfer partnerships, the local fabric has been consolidated and the historic subcontractor has now become a producer of its own national brand.
An essential hub for automotive production and engineering, Turkey is recognized today for its high efficiency and competitiveness thanks to its compliance with international quality and safety standards.
The dynamism of the Turkish automobile industry is also based on relatively sustained growth in demand from a population that is still under-equipped, despite very high specific taxes and the cost of gasoline.
