The infrastructure sector - Türkiye
The infrastructure sector in Türkiye stands as a central pillar of the national economy, driving not only urban development but also strengthening the country's economic competitiveness on the international stage. Between 1986 and 2023, Türkiye implemented 270 public-private partnership projects, representing a massive financial commitment of USD 204 billion. These initiatives reflect the transformative momentum the country is experiencing, addressing both growing internal needs and its ambition to play a leading geostrategic role between Europe and Asia.
By 2028, Türkiye plans to build 4,728 km of highways, a sign of its continued commitment to improving its transportation network. These investments are all the more critical as the public works sector received 26.8% of the budget allocated under the 2023 investment program, with major projects underway to enhance both urban and intercity transportation capacities.
Faced with rapidly growing demographics and accelerating urbanization, Türkiye continues to reinvent itself through strategic investments in infrastructure and strives to become a crucial hub in the global economy of tomorrow.
